Hello. My name is Will Jr. My father, Will Sr., ordered this 1954 Studebaker Champion DeLuxe from Llyod Pearson of Pasadena, California. It has not been restored or modified. Dads car has spent its entire life in California and was parked inside a garage when not driven. When dad passed away, I had the Dept. of Motor Vehicles re-title his Studebaker in my name. Since then, I've driven the old Stude to work on occasion and around about town. The car drives OK and thanks to its Borg-Warner-Overdrive the old Champ is able to cruise along just fine at freeway speeds and better. Please carefully examine the pictures and note that the original paint is faded on the roof and hood. The body has some minor dings and dents. There is rust on the driver-side floor-board. There is insulation missing on a small section of wiring under the hood. The interior dome light and the fuel gauge are currently not working. Dad had the interior redone sometime back in the 1970's. The windshield wiper knob and exterior passenger side door knob appear to be a re-manufactured part. The engine smokes and leaks a little oil when parked. When the engine is cold, the car starts easily. However, after an extended drive, the starter motor cranks the engine more slowly and restarting the Stude can become difficult at times. Personally, I have no problems shifting the manual transmission. However, please note that others have initially experienced some difficulty at times shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. With a little practice, however, they become familiar with the shift pattern and it is no longer an issue. If you are interested, I will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have or assist you scheduling an appointment. I am not much of a salesman, but I promise you I will always give you an honest answer. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email or text or call me at (626) 354-2864. Thank You. Sincerely, Will. .
